Stopped by Chuck-A-Burger Drive-In and loved the retro vibe! I got a single Chuck with everything, fries, and a Coke--classic and delicious. Burger was juicy, fries were crispy, and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely hitting the cravings for fresh hot fast food.

Fast, friendly service - even in the rain! The food is always a classic drive-in hit and they serve Ski soda's in bottles or from the fountain.

Delicious food, wide variety on the menu, juicy burger, big fried mushrooms, everything I've ordered here has been so good. Fast service and they bring it to your car, just like years ago. Can't beat this place, and you'll probably see some of the most beautiful classic cars especially on weekends.

Just off the plane and hit up Chuck A Burger which is nearby. I've had on a try list for years. I love old drive-in's from the 50's. It's not much to look at unfortunately, but maybe it once was. The area seemed safe during the day. I actually was hoping they had indoor seating but it's now closed. So I pulled up by the building and service was immediate and friendly. I kept it simple with a cheeseburger, fries and strawberry shake. Prices were affordable. My order came out on a bag in less than 10 minutes. Burger and fries were hot and tasty. Shake ok. The server came back and brought extra napkins. A solid 4 seems to fit them perfectly. Good bites and excellent service. Not sure I would return, but check them out if never been.

Ordered dinner at the drive in Chuck a Burger. Everything on the menu is great and the cheese balls are always my go to. The car hop lady's come right up to the car when you pull in, take your order and food is ready fairly quick. I have always had a pleasant experience here. I have been going here a couple years and love the old school drive in style restaurant but do wish to someday eat inside once that area is opened again.

This is one of my favorite local places, end up grabbing a burger here on the regular and while I have tried other things and liked them (they have a big menu), I love good burgers and this is one I crave. I love the fries and onion rings both and appreciate that everything is made to order. That freshness is not as common as I would like. Another standout is the team who works there. They are friendly, timely and have given me good feedback on things when I have asked about other things on the menu - not once have they led me astray. I do want to give you a tip on how it works, cause they closed their dining room during Covid and remain a drive up restaurant. And it confuses new folks cause it is not a drive thru or like Sonic with speakers. - there are signs on the building that say spots up at the building should be used for to go orders. - if you want to eat there great! Just park a layer out, or even hit up the picnic tables. - someone will come to you as soon as possible (they frequently motion they will be a minute as they put in someone else's order. If you park anywhere they can see you, they tend to arrive promptly. - lots of locals eat there often so if you want a menu, just ask. They have paper ones with them. Feel free to say it will take a minute or tell them what you are thinking. Since the restaurant is so close to an overpass, pay extra close attention to traffic and keep an eye out for folks who walk, ride bikes or whatever cause pedestrians are pretty common with a big school and all nearby. It's family owned & operated so they are closed Sundays.

Been a long time since I went by Chuck A Burger Drive-In. Glad I did. Car hop came out quick. Got my order and my food came out even quicker it seemed. Good well seasoned double smash burger with LTOP and small fries. Those were the best fries I've had in a LONG time. I'll try to get back sooner. Love the curb service experience.

The location on St Charles Rock Road has been serving the community for decades, and it shows in the way the staff remember your name, your order, and whether you like your milkshake thick or extra thick. It’s not just about food here — it’s about tradition, connection, and good times that keep people coming back.

A menu that stays true to its roots

The Chuck A Burger menu is a love letter to old-school American diners. You’ll find double cheeseburgers stacked high, hand-cut fries, foot-long hot dogs, and fried chicken sandwiches that could give any chain a run for its money. But the crown jewel? Their signature Chuckburger — a juicy, seasoned patty topped with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and their house-made special sauce.

Vegetarians aren't left out either. Their grilled cheese and onion rings are local favorites, and there’s always a rotating dessert special that brings in a surprise element of sweetness. Prices are reasonable, portions are hearty, and everything is made to order. You can taste the difference.

More than just food, it’s the experience of hearing your name crackle over the intercom as your tray of comfort food is delivered to your window that makes it feel uniquely personal. You don’t just eat at Chuck A Burger — you participate in a ritual.

More than a restaurant — a gathering spot for the community

Over the years, Chuck A Burger has become more than just a place to grab a burger. It’s where car clubs meet on warm summer nights, where old friends catch up over root beer floats, and where first dates happen over shared chili cheese fries. This place has hosted everything from classic car cruises to school reunions, turning into a sort of unofficial landmark for the area.

You’ll often find it featured in local food blogs, mentioned in community forums, and even highlighted in travel guides as a must-visit diner in Saint Louis, Missouri. It’s the kind of spot that people bring their kids to, and those kids bring their kids decades later. That kind of multi-generational loyalty doesn’t come easy — it’s earned through consistency, care, and really good food.

What people are saying — reviews that speak volumes

One of the strongest proofs of Chuck A Burger’s enduring quality lies in what the customers say. Look up the reviews on Google, Yelp, or Facebook, and you'll see phrases like "Best burger in St. Louis," "Hidden gem," or "Tastes just like it did 20 years ago." The diner holds a solid reputation not just because of nostalgia, but because it continues to deliver where it matters: food, service, and experience.

Critics and foodies have called out the speed of service, the friendly staff, and that iconic mid-century diner aesthetic that transports you. A few reviewers have even gone as far as calling it a "slice of Americana," praising not just the food, but the atmosphere that turns a simple drive-in into a full sensory escape.

No place is perfect — it gets crowded during lunch rush, and sometimes you have to wait a bit if there's a car meet going on. But in a way, that’s part of the charm. You’re not just visiting a fast-food stop; you’re joining a crowd of people who get it — people who know that some things are worth the wait.
